Please use caution camping with the pop top up during wet and windy weather. The weather could get worse through the night and cause damage to the pop top and wind-blown rain could cause water to leak into the vehicle and onto the bedding. Check the weather forecast to make sure your set up correctly for what could happen.

Tips for using the pop-top in wet weather

  • Water resistance: The canvas will handle normal, vertical rain.

  • Avoid touching the sides: If blankets, pillows, or people press against the inner canvas, water can wick through the fabric.

  • Parking direction: Park with the rear or the solid part of the roof facing into wind-driven rain to reduce leakage risks.

  • Avoid packing wet: Lowering the roof with wet canvas traps moisture. Try to air it out within 12 hours.

  • Prevent mould: If you must pack it down wet while travelling, pop the roof back up as soon as the weather clears to dry the material and prevent mildew.
