Can I use my CPAP machine for sleep apnea in the campervan?

All Spaceships campervans come with a cigarette lighter socket (12V), located on the lower part of the dashboard between the driver’s and passenger’s seats. The cigarette lighter socket is powered - like all internal electronics - by the smart battery system of the campervan. This socket can power small devices, including some CPAP machines, but its suitability depends on your machine’s power requirements.

For CPAP machines that use a 12V USB plug, you may be able to use the campervan’s USB ports or the cigarette lighter socket. However, we cannot guarantee the performance of personal devices.

For reliable, uninterrupted use, we strongly recommend using 220V mains power. You can do this by adding the Gadget Charging Pack (a long cord with a camping power plug on one end and a standard NZ-style 220V female socket on the other) to your booking. This allows you to connect to powered campsites, ensuring your CPAP machine operates just like at home.

Important Note: The campervan’s smart battery system powers the cigarette lighter socket, but we cannot confirm whether it will support your specific CPAP machine continuously. Since CPAP machines typically consume around 125 Wh per night, there is a risk of draining the battery if it’s not designed for extended use. To avoid interruptions, 220V mains power is the safest option for those who depend on their CPAP machine.

The Gadget Charging Pack (220V mains power cord) is available as an optional accessory.
