We have both non-self-contained and self-contained campervans in our fleet. Compare all campervans to see the differences and find the best one for your New Zealand road trip.

Certified Self-Contained explained

In New Zealand, a campervan is considered "certified self-contained" if it meets certain criteria set by the New Zealand Standard for Self-Containment of Motor Caravans and Caravans. The certification process is now called NZS 5465:2001 or the Blue Self-Contained Certificate or Sticker. This certification method will be replaced by a new one in 2024 - Green Warrant Certification - with the deadline for rental vehicles being 7 December 2024. Read more about these changes.

This self-contained certification means that the campervan can function independently without relying on external facilities for a specified period. It means you have everything on board to live off the grid for a certain number of days.

As of 7 December 2024, our self-contained campervans will evolve to meet the Green Warrant requirements, equipped with a fixed toilet (more info).
